First-Year Housing
First-Year Housing
All first-year students at Washington and Lee University are required to live in on-campus housing. The first-year residence hall floors are divided into sections of 12 to 20 students, each supervised by a Resident Adviser (RA), a trained, upper-division student capable of giving sympathetic and informed guidance to new students. In keeping with the traditions of student life at W&L, the regulation of residence hall life is based on the principle of student self-government.
Special Requests
Rooms with facilities for students with disabilities are available in singles and doubles. Service and emotional-assistance animals are allowed on campus and in housing in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, Virginia Fair Housing Law and University Policy.
